I was reading about a movie I had never heard of but thought it sounded like one we would like: War of the Buttons. There are two of versions of this movie, one in 1994 and one in 2012. We watched the 1994 version.War of the Buttons is set in Ireland where two large groups of kids fight over turf by cutting off the buttons, shoelaces and underwear of their enemies to get them in trouble with their parents. Sounds ridiculous and silly right?! It's a funny movie but does have some sad parts in it, like when one of the boys takes a beating from his dad.
You can expect a naked group of boys running into "battle" in one scene that we found so funny! There's also some name calling and mean kids, but no sex.
